Four years ago, back in November 2022, my studio had the absolute pleasure of hosting a very special photoshoot for MTV’s hit show Teen Mum UK. We welcomed the lovely Whitney from Portsmouth, along with her beautiful newborn, family, and the fantastic MTV production crew, for an unforgettable newborn session.
Looking back at these photos brings back so many wonderful memories of that day.
Filming with MTV: Lights, Camera, Connections!
Having a full television production crew inside the studio brings a whole new energy. Between balancing camera angles, continuous lighting setups, and TV recording schedules, our main focus remained unchanged: creating a calm, gentle, and welcoming environment for mom and baby.
Whitney y was an absolute star throughout the shoot—radiant, composed, and completely in her element as a mother. Capturing her bond with her tiny baby while the cameras rolled in the background was a truly special experience.
Capturing the Details & Pure Emotion
During a newborn session, my goal is always to freeze those fleeting initial moments—the tender cuddles, tiny fingers, soft eyelashes, and peaceful snuggles.
Monochrome Magic: Capturing mother and baby in classic black-and-white strips away background distractions, letting the raw emotion and tender bond take center stage.
Family Bonds: Celebrating the support system around a new mum is just as important as photographing the newborn. Including generation-defining moments and close family members creates priceless heirlooms.

While the final photographs look serene and effortless, behind the camera was a flurry of activity!
From coordinating studio backdrops and beanbag setups to taking quick group selfies with Whitney and the incredible all female crew behind Teen Mum UK, the session was filled with laughter, teamwork, and empowerment.
