Sun-Drenched Magic: A Monet-Inspired Pre-Wedding Session at Southsea Rose Gardens
The UK is absolutely glowing right now! We have been treated to some of the most spectacular, beautiful summer weather of late, with a gorgeous heatwave wrapping the south coast in pure sunshine. As a photographer, this golden, sun-drenched light is an absolute dream, and I could not wait to get out there with my camera in hand.
Speaking of dreams, I recently had the absolute pleasure of capturing a stunning pre-wedding session for the wonderful Sophie and Kurtis.
When looking for the perfect backdrop for their couple's portraits, we decided on one of the most romantic spots in Hampshire—the stunning Rose Gardens in Southsea, Portsmouth.
A Touch of Monet on the South Coast
If you have not visited the Southsea Rose Gardens during the height of summer, you are truly missing out. The gardens are currently putting on a spectacular show with an array of beautiful, vibrant plants and blooming roses filling the air with the sweetest scent.
But the real magic happens when you wander towards the hidden corners. With little waterfalls trickling into peaceful ponds covered in lilies and floating lily pads, it has the distinct, enchanting essence of Monet’s famous gardens in Giverny. It feels like stepping straight into a classic painting!
It was a beautifully warm, balmy evening, and the atmosphere was incredibly relaxed. Sophie and Kurtis completely embraced the moment, laughing, unwinding, and just enjoying each other's company while I captured their natural connection. Pre-wedding sessions are the perfect way to get comfortable in front of the lens before the big day, and these two made it look effortless.
Counting Down to the Big Day on Hayling Island
Capturing their love story at the Rose Gardens was special, but the main event is just around the corner! I am absolutely thrilled to be photographing their upcoming summer wedding later this month on Hayling Island at the breathtaking Tournerbury Woods Estate.
From the tranquil, coastal vibes of Southsea to the private, ancient woodlands and sweeping sea views of the Tournerbury Estate, it is going to be an unforgettable Hampshire wedding. I honestly cannot wait to get behind the camera for them again!
